Durante pouco mais de um mês, juntamos esforços com um grupo de profissionais – artistas, curadora, cenógrafa – para colocar dentro de um espaço público um trabalho que consideramos de relevância também pública. Nasceu assim a exposição Habite-se, que reúne na Galeria Olido uma seleção de trabalhos que buscam retratar o cotidiano e as histórias dos agora ex-moradores dos edifícios São Vito e Mercúrio.
Os dois gigantes, comumente fundidos sob a alcunha de “treme-treme”, foram desapropriados pela Prefeitura de São Paulo dentro de projetos de revitalização do centro da cidade; o São Vito em 2004, na gestão Marta Suplicy, e o Mercúrio em fevereiro deste ano, já na gestão Gilberto Kassab.
À parte gestões, processos, projetos, o fato é que todas essas pessoas, a maioria trabalhadores do próprio centro, receberam, certo dia, um aviso dizendo que as suas casas não seriam mais suas. O que os trabalhos que compõem Habite-se têm em comum é o foco nas pessoas e em suas histórias, no impacto da mudança sobre a vida de cada um dos retratados.
Além de parte do nosso ensaio Morar, sobre o edifício Mercúrio, estão presentes os trabalhos da documentarista Camila Mouri e dos fotógrafos gUi Mohallem, Antonio Brasiliano e Fabiano Cerchiari, todos sobre o São Vito. A curadoria é de Rita Toledo Piza e a cenografia de Veronica Arias.
Portanto, estão todos convidados. A abertura será no dia 15 de abril, às 19h, e estarão presentes artistas e ex-moradores. A exposição ficará em cartaz até o dia 30 de maio. A Galeria Olido fica na Av. São João, 473, em São Paulo.
